HAI - Human reachable temp sensor - security risk?

Hey all,

Quick question.  I have been analyzing my zones and trying to make sure I have everything covered - we live in a pretty rural area and the house is not visible by neighbours.

I have a HAI remote temp sensor that is mounted at the back of the house, about 7ft from the ground.  This is reachable by a 6ft tall person.  If someone was, for example, to rip it off the wall and short out some combination of the cables (even just positive and negative) could they possibly cause a problem that should short out the entire alarm to a state where it wouldn't be able to call out?

the temp sensor is connected to one zone on the mainboard, and its +,- terminals are connected to one of the 12V outputs on the OmniPro.

Maybe i'm overthinking...but i'm curious what the experts think.

Thanks

M

If you're worried about this possibility, though many panels have some sort of PTC, in your case, why not just fuse the +aux feeding the unit. If the zone portion is shorted, no consequence.

Hmmm..nothing comes up when i search power products....

Can you suggest something or what type of fuse I should use? a 12v auto fuse? but i'm assuming it'd need to be a tiny current.
