HAI Keypad - FA BR / HALL NOT RDY

My controller is a OMNI PRO II
I had a fire Alarm last year; and the alarm was cleared.
I still have a message on my HAI keypad that says, " FA BR / Hall NOT RDY"
Any ideas how to clear this message; or suggestions on what may be causing this message to be displayed?

Press * twice. If that doesn't work, it sounds like your fire alarm never reset. Are you sure the fire alarm is fed power from the "switched power" terminals and not the "aux power" terminals? See the installers guide. Otherwise its a bad sensor. Why did it go off?

My guess it was wired to aux power and not switched power.  Is it on zone 1 to 4?  When a fire alarm goes off it gets latched, so power has to be reset to the sensor to clear it, and if its not hooked to switched power, this is probably not occuring. This worries me greatly, because it means your fire sensors are not hooked up correctly. I would have all the fire control wiring and relays checked by someone who is qualified if you can't do that yourself as soon as you can. Chances are there are other problems as well. Fire circuits are the most complex type of sensor and they have to be wired in a specific way. Currently your fire sensor is being bypassed by the alarm, so its basically is doing nothing for your system.

I pushed * twice, on the keypad, and the massage is still there. They are wired correctly, being fed from switched power terminals; verified by a FA technician at time of installation.

I do not know what caused the false alarm. It is the only one I've had for the 12 years the system has been in operation. The system was checked and tested by a certified technician when installed. I test the detectors occasionally with "Smoke In A Can", and keep a fresh battery in the system.

I have 6 smoke detectors and 5 heat detectors installed in this home.

If everything is wired correctly, and this sensor is not resetting, its a bad sensor. You have ruled out everything else. The panel is telling you the problem, the sensor is not reset. It may indicate you need to clean it, but you should just replace it.

I took the ESL 405NBXT apart and it looked extremely clean. I blew it out with canned air and put it back into service. It is functioning properly now and my keypads reflect "System OK".

I am going to order a replacement, however, since the error with this unit was not identifiable. Don't want to chance it malfunctioning in a real emergency.

Thanks for your support...

I have that model too, but if its not acting as it should, its best to replace them. They are cheap enough.

I agree with you. The red light is no longer on, steady; but it is not pulsing properly either, even though the alarm message has been cleared. Got a new one coming.

Thanks again...
