HAI Keypad Wiring/Power Wiring

Preparing to setup my HAI system. I have read the manual and looked at the quick start guide. I am confused about the proper way to wire my keypads. I will have 6 of them and they are homerun with 22/4. From what I can tell, the quick start guide indicates I should just connect all 6 of them to directly to the board. Is that the preferred setup method? I know the Elk has some kind of keypad board, in which you connect all you keypads, and then run that to the board. However, I see nothing like that for HAI. I am concerned about trying to connect 6 keypad 22 gauge wires onto a single connection point - primary concerned that they will not all make contact or that I might end up with a loose wire.. Any tips here?


Also, What gauge wire do I need to run from the transformer to the board?

I use punch down blocks for things like this. Either a 66 or 110 style will work.

You can use ordinary screw-type terminal strips too. Bring all of your "red" wires each to a screw on one strip, and all of the "green" wires to another strip. Then cut short pieces of wire and use them to jumper all of the strips together.

I personally don't keep it in my enclosure because my enclosure and all wiring is in a hidden access room.

5 + 1 for the bedroom.

You might consider a touchscreen or iPod/iPad for your bedroom. I think I would go nuts with a keypad in my bedroom. By default they are BRIGHT.
