HAI RC-2000 fan running continuously

I’ve discovered that the fan is running continuously when the “cycle” mode has been selected with my RC-2000 thermostat. I’ve tried adjust the fan cycle time in the settings, with no change in behavior. The fan behaves correctly when the “auto” mode is selected.

Any ideas as to why the fan is running continuously? Is there another setting I have misconfigured to cause this behavior?

My first RC-2000 did the same thing I posted about in this forum a couple of years ago and never got a response, someone else also had the same problem : http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/15417-omnistat2-fan-cycle-doesnt

I got a new RC-2000 after my old one got toasted by a lightning strike, cycle seems to work on this one, could be a firmware issue as the version went a up few on my new one, and there is no way to upgrade firmware AFAIK.

Thanks for the link to the previous topic, I obviously need to work on my ability to use search :(.

I’ve just tried using “cycle” in heat mode…no change in behavior, still runs continuously. My RC-2000 has 1.03D firmware.

I’ll try contacting HAI support.

I also have the same issue with both of the RC-2000 units we have, they have been installed 2-3 years. What I have seen is the cycle works when you are coming out of cooling mode. So during the summer when the unit has been cooling then reaches setpoint and shuts off the cycle works. However in the winter when unit has been in heating mode and reaches setpoint and shuts off the cycle does not work and the fan runs continuously. Both thermostats we have are connected to a HAI OPII. Glad to hear it is just not mine. Other than that T-Stats working fine.

Just to follow up –

I contacted HAI support, they asked a few questions and decided it was probably a problem with the thermostat. The replacement arrived with firmware 1.05A, and now the fan cycles correctly.
