HAI with MP3s from NAS to two audio zones

I'm going through MileHighAutomation for my HAI setup and they suggested that for audio I don't use HiFi2 since with only two audio zones it would be overkill. They suggested that I use a Nuvo with the HAI to Nuvo connecotr and then connect ANOTHER two devices (one for each zone - http://www.amazon.com/Grace-Digital-Wireless-featuring-GDI-IRDT200/dp/B00395ZQMK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1333398810&sr=8-3&tag=5336653668-20) to the Nuvo. Talk about overkill. Has anyone else come across this issue - I don't need iTunes streaming or anything else (Internet radio/audio streams would be OK); I primarily want audio read via SMB shares from my NAS. Isn't there a Sonos solution for HAI? Of note, sound would be sent from basement to in-ceiling speakers (i.e., no wireless music transmission); also, I need a stand-alone solution, so nothing through a PC always-on type scenario.

thanks

I don't know anything about HAI but either Logitech's Squeezeboxes or Sonos would seem to be a nice option with good support from 3rd parties for control (for instance, lots of android and iphone apps). Consumer audio is a much bigger market than home automation, and so I think you would get a better deal by sticking to the big consumer brands.

How exactly do you need your HAI setup to talk to your audio server?

Thanks. I'll look into Squeezebox. From what I've read, Sonos integration into HAI is sketchy at best due to Sonos having their API closed off to third parties. I just need something from the OmniPro II to pass control signals to glorified multiroom-capable amps. I don't want a million intermediaries or some overpriced Hifi2 unit just to be able to send audio to two zones.

What did you go with? Is there any sonos integration with hai at the moment? I cannot find anything anywhere....
