Haikuhelper e-mail notifications

I have a few customers setup with haikuhelper and are receiving push notifications.  This project I am working on now the customer would like email notifications as well.  Below is how I am setting it up. 
 
To Address:  customers email
From Address: customers email
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
User: customers email
Password: customers email password
 
After this information has been entered I send test notification I get a popup saying "test notification sent!" but then it locks up or at least I think its locking up. I try hitting ok and nothing happens.  After restarting haikuhelper the email setup information is no longer in the fields. 
 
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Turns out the "Send Test Notification" under the email settings is a known bug.  Nullriver tech support replied very quickly with this information.  He had me send the test though the web interface, worked perfect.
