Hardware controller options

I have a bunch of wired sensors in my house that are currently not connected to anything. The sensors are temperature sensors and motion sensors. I want to write my own software that will read motion sensor status and toggle lighting scenes for my RadioRa system. Similarly my software will read temp sensors and adjust thermostats.

I read a lot of posts here about Elk M1 and Omni II. What are my options for device controllers to connect the sensors to? Just these?

Curious what kind of temperature sensors you have.  My OmniProII panel has propietary HAI Temperature and temperature / humidity sensors.

I don't have the sensors yet. Sounds like I need to re-think this part.

Can you recommend a sensor that, rather than integrating directly to a thermostat, will connect a component that will allow me to query that component to read temperature? I think that component could be an Arduino or Raspberry Pi, but I'd rather use an off the shelf system.

I have Leviton / HAI temperature and temperature and humidity combos here.

I also have multiple 1-wire networks with multiple sensors.  (many are combo temperature / humidity).

I query the Leviton / HAI temperature sensors with my automation software and mix that in with the 1-wire connections.

The HAI temperature and temperature humidity sensors plug into the HAI OPII panel.  Power and a zone per each sensor.
