I recently installed a ceiling fan in my living-room and had to run the power from my chandelier in the dining room, about 20 feet. There was no line voltage at the chandelier so my ceiling fan and chandelier have to be on at the same time. The chandelier and ceiling fan are controlled by a wall switch. Is there anything available that I can replace the wall switch that will enable me to control the ceiling fan and chandelier independently?
Many thanks

Check out your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Look in the ceiling fans section and you will find some remote controls including some that replace the wall switch and allow you to control the fan and light independently. They involve obviously replacing the wall switch with the new unit and adding a control piece at the fan. They basically work by running power all the time to the fan-mounted device that is wirelessly controlled by the new switch. I think they run around $70-$80

EDIT: Here is a link to an example at Lowe's.

Thanks for the feedback but I want to control the ceiling fan and the chandelier independently not the ceiling fan and light. I have a ceiling fan and light in the living room and a chandelier in the dining room on the same rocker switch.

Simply use 2 remotes. You will have power to both units all the time and the 2 remotes will individually control each unit.

I had the same situation with 2 fans with lights in the same room that were on 1 switch. I wanted to control each light and fan independly. I used 2 remotes. One for each light/fan.
