hardwired thermostats

In newbie learning mode for future HA, question...

I had Cat5 runs to my 3 cheapo thermostats from structured wire box for future HA. What nifty thermostats would allow me to utilize those Cat5? What other HW do I need for this portion of HVAC HA? I realize I can do wireless, but I hate to waste the Cat5 (especially after what I paid).

BTW. I will be getting CQC after April 1st. Woohoo!

Check out the install guide for the Elk Serial Port module, found here.

It will show you how various popular stats are wired up to both an HA system, like the Elk, and to the HVAC.

From there you can lookup the various products for more info.
