IRVINE, CA - May 23, 2007 - Hawking Technologies, Inc., a leading developer of innovative home automation, wireless networking and security solutions for home and business users, announced that it has begun shipments of its long awaited HomeRemoteTM home control system today. HomeRemote is an affordable, easy-to-use system that lets users control their household appliances and lighting both from within their homes and from anywhere in the world via a standard Internet web browser or mobile phone. For added security, HomeRemote also allows users to monitor their home with live video from HomeRemote Wireless Video Cameras (HRNC1). HomeRemote lets even the most inexperienced users tailor their homes for personal comfort and control within minutes. The HomeRemote System (HRGZ1) consists of an Internet Gateway and a handheld remote control for convenient, in-home control of lighting and appliances.

Real World Applications

The HomeRemote system utilizes Z-wave technology, an award-winning, reliable wireless standard that enables compatibility with a full selection of accessory devices, including lighting and climate controls, video cameras for monitoring and security, garage door openers, and many others. With HomeRemote, not only can users monitor and control their devices, but they can also help keep their homes secure as well. With the addition of motion detectors and sensors to their home automation systems, users can receive emails or text messages on their cell phones when these devices are triggered. Users can also set their indoor and outdoor lights to turn on at scheduled times while they are away, thereby warding off intruders by giving the appearance of a busy home.

The HomeRemote Cell Link service provides a user friendly interface on most mobile phones currently in the market. “The ability for someone to control and monitor their home with live video on their cellular phone is a very powerful and useful feature. Imagine being able to check whether you’ve left your iron or lights on and being able to turn it off from directly from your cell phone, anywhere, anytime. Imagine being able to see your kids or pets at home at anytime from your cell phone to see if they’re safe or doing what their supposed to. The real world applications are unlimited and each individual will have their own type of specific applications for this type of product. We are very excited about the launch and will continue to work on expanding the system and improve the interfaces as more accessories become available,” says Jason Owen, Chief Officer of Product Strategy and Business Development at Hawking Technologies.

Giving Customers the Home Control Solution They Need
HomeRemote seamlessly integrates WiFi, IP-based technology, and Z-wave home control technology to deliver a full-featured home automation solution that anyone can use. “In the past, home automation systems were too expensive and difficult to install. Hawking’s HomeRemote System solves this issue by providing an affordable yet powerful solution that anybody can install. Customers don’t really care to know what’s inside a piece of hardware,” said, Owen. “They just want the hardware to work, and they want it to work easily and intuitively. Hawking understands this and always strives to provide the most convenient and powerful solution with all of its products. We see home control evolving with networking technology, and are offering a complete solution that harnesses the power of the internet and mobile phones.”

Ease-of-Use

The HomeRemote System can be accessed through any internet web browser by entering a custom user selectable domain name, such as www.myhome.homeremote.net. The web interface is organized by the rooms in a home and the devices within those rooms. HomeRemote is also accessible through a mobile phone using the HomeRemote Cell Link service. Cell Link allows users to navigate an intuitively simple interface on their cell phones that is customized to their home control configuration. Cell Link is currently compatible with most major cellular carriers in North America (See the HomeRemote website for exact details)
