Just want to introduce myself. I lurked around on this site for a little while and decided to join and participate.
I am a student at a tech school that is just starting my senior project. It is basically controlling entertainment appliances through a home computer. A more advance description is a box with a usb interface to a computer. The box outputs IR signals that are controlled by a Microchip PIC. A GUI program will mimic a remote control.
The research I have done has mostly lead me to projects where a remote control controls a computer. If anyone has any advice or comments, please post! Thank you.
