Guess I've been a member for many months but had never posted here. I've been reading and lurking for quite a while though. Anyway, I installed an Omni Pro II earlier this year however, had it preprogrammed from a dealer based on my new house specs. I ran many thousands of feet of wire for just about everything you could possibly want during construction.

I have the main board with expansion daughter board and another full size external expansion board also attached. All in a 48" box. It's a site to see! So far everything is working great but I am just getting into the installation of all the UPB devices I purchased with the unit. I have some 40 odd variety of switches...Dimmer, Non-Dimmer, and Auxiliary that need to be installed as well as 12 duplex outlets for the eaves of the house (Think Christmas Lights controlled from my touch panels)

Security - Complete
HVAC - Complete
Garage contacts and controls - Complete
UPB - to do
Irrigation control - to do
Smokes - to do

So Hello All,

Alan

Congrats on the setup and welcome to CocoonTech.

Remember, you can create your own blog and document your installation if you would like.

South Austin now but I grew up in Gatesville..... LOL bet you didn't expect to hear that. As far as the blog, I will work on that. I know I took lots of pictures along the way to this point and I know I still have a lot to do.... It is certainly a learning experience. I will share everything I can.

Hey bajadahl, Just to mention, I recently have been wrestling with a complex irrigation management scenario. One mention I have for anyone in this regard is ...when dealing with pumps its is way easier to code for a system that already has some sort of built in hardware-safety mechanism(s), or to provide that separately yourself.

For instance, we have this one system where the owner does not have a simple safety valve for relieving pressure in the water delivery channels when they turn off. So if a channel goes off and the pump is still yet on, unwanted pressure will build up i the channel, or even against the pump (if it doesn't switch, say on a last on channel.
Since there are so many different aspects to how this can go wrong (user turned something on for a while, a code failed to execute, etc), ...coding safety for this sort of scenario is a ridiculous nightmare.

Probably not many irrigation systems suffer from potential pressure or similar problems, but damn if I didn't run into that!
I think I may have posted some code around here relevant to this, but its likely dated considering its still in refinement.

Good luck on your projects, and thanks for posting.
