Hifi2 and accessory building

I am trying to set up my omni pro II and HIFI2 as a remote location. With just a 6" ribbon cable I will have all speakers and RIM and VSCs traveling a long way. Can the omni panel control more than 1 HIFI2?

It is my understanding that the Omni family of panels can only control (in the conventional sense) one audio system at a time (HiFi2 included). That said, you could control some (very limited) features of a 2nd audio system that supports serial control. You would program "messages" in the Omni system and then activate the messages to control features. Use the HiFi 2 protocol document to determine which messages to send and setting a serial port on the omni to "Prolink" protocol.
 
It's a crap solution, but the only one I know of to allow integration between the two. That said, if the intention is to use Snaplink Mobile for control from a phone/tablet, this idea is out.
