Last month you could have bought a Homevision Controller for less than $300.00 U.S. (if you resided in the U.S.)....

I suspected you were from Oz ..thats why i suggested Clipsal CBUS....Im not aware of any Oz devices ,upb, insteon or zwave....So i dont think you can use any of those technologies ...

PS...A lot of people who use Hardware controllers such as Homevision also use pc software such as Homeseer etc...

Hi Paul
Have bought some x10 appliance modules and lamp modules from Envious ...their prices are pretty good...I also use some x10 wireless which talks to my Homevision Controller via a W800 and its homevision plugin...I use x10 palm units for manual control of my garden irrigation..
If just starting out i would suggest buying some x10 kit and have a play....

Is it possible to import Zwave european stuff to aus?? they are on same voltage?

Hi Paul

You probably can import zwave kit from Europe and the voltage should be the same but if they are plug in modules then they will not fit the Oz power points...

Thanks Frank... i was also thinking that UK got different frequency compared to what we got here in aus for z wave products... will that be of any problem?? i think it should be just low powered ones so the range wont be big... But is it illegal??? what do u think it will create any interference??

Ya i am not thinking to buy plug in modules... but if we need one we can always buy a adapter from ebay, should be simple and easy B)

Do you know any good website where i can get it from???

Hi Frank

Below is what i read in wiki

Frequency band: The Z-Wave Radio uses the 900 MHz ISM band: 908.42MHz (United States); 868.42MHz (Europe); 919.82MHz (Hong Kong); 921.42MHz (Australia/New Zealand).

So thats why i was thinking i should be different?

Ya there is smarthome.com.au who started selling zwave products... but they are very exp and dont have much choice or products to buy from :(
