How about keypads?

The three leftover PIO lines on the LCD driver is nice, but missing ONE darned button to make it a menu-navigator.

Now, if a seperate board, with one of those keypad-chips used a similar PIO, and we polled it, THAT would make a handy product. And these keypads are widely available in various forms.

Personally, I'd be using two: one for the main status screen so I can navigate the various settings, and another one for vehicle entry. I'd like to be able to secure the trailer with the system, too.
