How should I connect this ELK phone surge suppressor

I bought one of these ELK-955 2-line surge suppressor, and I'm ready to hook it up but not sure what to do!

From what I can tell, the line from the demark point is a blue/w-blue, it connects to a box -> HAI security panel -> Tele-Doorbell -> rest of phones in the house.

I suppose this surge suppressor is connected right at the demark point so before the HAI panel? But according to the manual, I'm not using the J1 and J2 (protected) for the phone lines. What am I suppose to do? I do want the protection for all connected devices.

Much appreciate your help.

So it appears the incoming line connects to the tip and ring terminals for line 1. (white is tip, blue is ring). Then you connect your alarm panel to J1 so that the line loops out to the panel and back in to the surge suppressor. (That is why is ts an 8cond RJ31X jack). If you don't plug anything into J1 then internal contacts on the jack connect to send the signal on anyway. The phone line comes out of the suppressor at T1 and R1 for line 1 (T1 is white or green, R1 is blue or Red) and goes on to feed the Tele-doorbell. I assume the tele-doorbell has output terminals to feed the rest of the house.

If you do not use J1 to connect your alarm panel then wire the alarm panel line seizure relay after surge terminals T1/R1 and before the input to the tele-doorbell.
