I have a door sensor on a deck box in my back yard. It has some expensive fishing equipment in it. The wireless sensor is working great. I don't want it to cause an alarm if opened. I rather want my Elk M1G speaker to chime instead. I want it to chime when the alarm is armed or not. So basically it wont be part of an alarm but just chime every time it's opened?

How do I do this? Thanks guys!

Just create a rule for whenever it becomes unsecure. You can program a text string and/or beep on the keypad.

Cant you just define it as non-alarm and enable chime?

ElkRP shows that I still have the chime enabled option on my non-alarm zones, Ive just never tried it since I didnt need them to actually chime

You can enable chime on your zones, but you won't hear it unless you turn chime on via the keypad. If you write a rule like W2P mentioned it will fire at all times no matter the chime mode. I do something similar for my flood zones, I don't want the alarm, but I do want it to notify me.
