i am trying to use a previously unused zone, it was never setup with my original install, i have named it in PC access, but that is all i seem to be able to do, is this a function for only the dealer version of PC access?
You have to have Dealer PC Access to be able to change zone types. None of the installer options are in the End User version. If you have the installer code, you can change it via a console.
