Am doing a reno and do not want a sub woofer cabinet in a corner, so I got an in-wall unit.
For cabinet design reasons, I can't mount the woofer facing the room so I was going to mount it about a foot out from the cabinets, and a foot off the floor, on the adjacent wall.
I'm a bit concerned about standing waves or other bass cancellation as the sound bounces off the nearby cabinets and back to cross the main axis of the speaker.
The room has a 14 foot cathedral ceiling and I'll square off the top of that around 4 feet down. So, I could mount the sub in the ceiling - which I've never heard of.
I'm no acoustic engineer.
Which scheme seems better?
TIA
**** Updated **** the ceiling will be fine.
