The kind you put under couches or beds or mats. Though, I'm certainly interested in knowing about the other kind.
If you check the halloweenforum.com site, you should be able to find more about mat pressure switches. However, I do remember seeing this article recently:

As for your couch/bed, I don't think you can do this without getting something like the SureAction Pulsors if you want to do this by pressure. For your bed, you could other tricks, such as motion sensors under the bed, pointing at the foot area.

I bought one at China freight...
$6.00, just threw out the screamer they sold with it, and hooked the pad up to a DS10A.
Put those under the seats in my entertainment room!
Helps to keep the lights on.

The analog force sensors can also be hooked up to the DS10a. You can add a resistor to adjust sensitivity. I now use them in the analog state to filter out my dogs weight, etc, but I have used them a couple times with a DS10A.

The advantage of these is that they are very flat and most have adhesive backs, so a log more mounting options than the foam spaced metal strips the mat ones use.

Those look very interesting! I'm looking for something to put under the legs of beds to tell when people are in bed. This would be used for automatic scene selection. I may have to get some of these and experiment. Thanks.

I looked at their site and noticed a voltage divider board which provides a precision potentiometer for adjustments. Very interesting indeed.

How many pounds can these things hold? I was going to do something like this for a few seats in my house, and ended up going with those larger mats (putting the pads under seat cushions) as I didn't want to ruin the strips by applying too much directed force.
Although, maybe I just needed to get two small pieces of board and sandwich the sensor betwixt.
Thoughts?
