Installer is using 22AWG wire for ceiling speakers

I ended up with 12 gauge multistrand wire from HDepot that was originally for underground landscape lighting. Similar strands as "speaker" wire, but my recollection is was about 1/2 the price for similar gauge. I bought it on 500 ft reels. Nice heavy insulation too.
Not sure if the price was low to move stale inventory at that time or not, but it was a good deal to me at the time.

It looks like it is 4x16awg: NEW GENERATION® BY BELDEN-M 5202UE CMR 75C 4C16 (UL) E108998 OR C(UL) CMG 2102 2103 S04 ROHS 0298398 FEET
Johnny,

Belden 5202UE is what I generally use for whole-house audio wire runs of 100ft or less. For longer runs I'll step up to the 14ga version which is 5102UE.

These are "no-frills" calbes, but have a good quality jacket and are in-wall rated.

Congrats... sounds like things are really moving along!

Paul
