Insteon ISY99i with Elk M1-Gold Light control

So I'm able to control all my Insteon devices through the M1 but I'm now trying to have the system turn all the lights on when the alarm is triggered. You would assume this should be a no brainier but I can't get it to work.

I've created a rule, placed it at the top of the list, that looks like the following...

WHENEVER ANY ALARM, ANY AREA TURNS ON
THEN TURN ALL LIGHTS ON, HOUSECODE A

I've created many other rules that will email, call and page me when the above rule is setup but I can't get the lights to turn on. What am I missing or is this not something the system can handle??

PS> I'm also able to create a rule that will turn on lights with a motion sensor trip or door contact trip but no when the alarm is tripped...

Thoughts???

I don't think you can use that All Lights On, Housecode A part. When you imported your lights from the ISY it typically creates a My Lighting group or group that represents all your lights. You need to turn that group on/off instead. In the newer ISY betas you may need to check a box on the import to get that group to show up.

First suggestion would be to go ahead and buy the ISY Elk module. It is in beta right now for like $40. The Elk module gives you full access to all inputs, outputs, alarm states, and so on and so on. About the only thing they don't have in the module is access to tasks. ISY is a much nicer programming interface as compared to Elk rules and I am getting perfect exection of everything now.

In my export of lights from ISY to Elk a few years ago I did get a "my lighting" choice. On the more recent export/import I did not get that choice. This was with 3.1.12 firmware on the ISY which is very different and totally re-arranges everything. I did have the box checked to enable the all on function. I did not investigate the matter since I moved all of my Elk rules that had anything to do with lights into ISY.

I agree about the Elk module - well worth the price to keep all my programs/rules on the ISY.

Before the Elk module I did something similar on my Elk, but like Wuench said I initially turned the "My Lighting" scene on. BUT keep in mind this might have unintended consequences. For example, I have 2 IOLincs controlling my garage doors which respond to the ALL ON command. So, when my alarm went off my lights came on but my garage doors opened too! Not good. I ended up creating a specific scene to turn on instead of using "My Lighting".

Good luck!

Yes, When I used the all on command my bathroom fans would turn on as well. Adds to the excitement of a false alarm!

Thanks everyone. I changed it from all lights to individual ones and it worked. I'll be looking into that isy module.. Thanks for all the help.
