Elk Products, Inc., a manufacturer of quality professional security and automation equipment, announces the release of driver software for the M1XSP Serial Port Expander for the M1 Security And Automation Controller to support the Insteon 2412S Power Line Modem Interface. The 2412S PLM Modem replaces some older Insteon PLM modems that are no longer in production. The Insteon 2412S provides a power line interface between the M1 Control and Insteon lighting products. Third party software packages such as PowerHome may be used to build the lighting network and store the lighting configuration into the Insteon 2412S module.
