Internal Door Sensors

What's the current consensus on cheap and effective door sensors, both in terms of model and vendor? I need something for 4 or 5 doors that will work with the Elk M1G. Thanks.

You want to know if they are open or closed? Why would there be a different sensor for internal vs. external doors?

I use GRI plungers for external, but I'm unsure if magnetic are better.

I like the Tane SD-70 3/4" diameter magnetic contacts. I drill a 3/4" hole horizontally just a couple inches off the floor, then I drill a 1/8" hole through the big one at a 45 degree angle down into the basement. When I slide the switch into the hole it hides the wiring just fine. I installed the matching sized magnet that comes with the switch into the door, but I expect something much smaller would work just fine. I have used these successfully in steel, wood, and fibreglass doors, both interior and exterior.

I bought mine from, and I've had great service from, Tri-State Electronic:

Magitic is more reliable than mecanical. I usally got the the ones like mentioned above that you drill a (3/8) hole in the door and a (3/8) hole for the magnet in the door put it on top you will never know it is there and hard to tamper with. I dont' know a brand I have used several and never had one fail so they are all the same I would say. The last batches I got from automated outlet.
