I have yet to find an IP outdoor camera with the day/night video specs as the fixed outdoor Vitek VTC-LED667HRCB. I am now thinking about using 2 single channel DVR cards (I assume they exist) in an AMD 64 soon to be dual core 4400+ PC with 2GB RAM. I might try one of the cheap 4 channel cards listed on eBay to see what happens. I am looking to get 2 of the Vitak cameras to start and may get 2 more if all goes well. With 4 fixed low light cameras I can cover all of the area I need to cover and be able to "see" in the dark. 4 Viteks would be the cost of a single P/T camera and I have to believe 4 cameras would be more interesting to look at rather than panning. I would love to be able to see 4 images simultaneously without having to do anything.
So it all comes down to a decent DVR card or cards. I may end up using my old Dell 3.06GHz Hyper-threading P4 (which is being setup as a file server) to record the cameras. A DVR card, a DVR card, my kingdom for a DVR card (sorry King Arthur)!
