IR Control

Hi there;

Im just wondering, i have a video distribution unit at home, where a modulator is able to send signal from most video outputs (CCTV, Sat Tv, DVD, etc) and play them around the house. I'm hoping to set it up and use Infrared, this will allow me to control sat tv from other rooms. I'm using Clipsal's Starserve and my only concern is that, to setup the IR eye, you need a F type connection, i currently have PAL points around my house. Although the distribution unit starts off as F type, for convenience, PAL points are around the house. If i use a PAL to F Type adapter/convertor and then connect the IR eye will it work or not?

thanks in advance;

Hi Scud, welcome to CT!

I am afraid not too many people here are familiar with the Clipsal system you mentioned, but if you do get an answer, please post an update, thanks!

Sorry, I don't have your system either. However, I am using a powermid. It converts ir to wireless and back to ir. It was inexpensive and served my purpose.
