In the process of finishing the install on the Uplink 4500EZ. CS see the Uplink but no activity from the panel. Is there any way to tell if ELK,XSP and Uplink 4500EZ are communicating to each other. I have not seen anything in the Elk-RP software to test the XSP and Uplink.

Before dumping in the Uplink firmware you can telnet to the serial and see data passing.

After the firmware, you'll need access to the Uplink dealer side to see what is being sent to them.

Thanks Del. I am not familiar with Telenet. I did activate it on my win7. Not familiar with the commands. I have tinkered with command prompt.

Been a while, but you should be able to just open up Telenet and let the M1/XSP do it's thing and you should be able to see what is passing through the XSP to the serial.

IMHO, unless you're 100% sure you have a USB to serial that is bullet proof and works 99% of the time, don't assume anything, I have a backpack of at least 5, if not 10, serial to USB adapters up to ridiculously expensive that work with some hardware and not others, while a dedicated serial picks up everything all the time.

Got the Uplink 4500EZ to work with XSP. Overlooked one jumper on xsp. Check the jumpers:)
