Keyless Entry Options - Back Door

When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail! I think us HA people were trying to over engineer something so simple!

Funny. I have a 2 and 3 year old so I can relate to what you're saying. Fortunately, they're getting old enough so that most of the time, they can walk on their own while I carry the stuff (though it's very annoying when they take their shoes off and having to put them back on takes more time then just doing multiple trips with me carrying one or two of them when it's too much trouble putting shoes back on). Or at least they're getting old enough that they're patient enough to wait in the car while I take in the stuff (it seems to be safer to leave them alone strapped into the car than the alternative of having them running around inside the house while I go back to the car to get stuff). Soon, they'll be old enough to take in the stuff with them, and cut the grass, do the dishes, etc :-) ...

Another consideration is to get a lock with a keypad on it (Kwikset, Schlage has non-Z-wave versions, or get the Z-wave versions for future use, assuming they can be used okay even before setting them up with a Z-wave controller). It won't be remote, but unlocking a keypad might be easier than digging keys out of your pocket, finding the right key, and unlocking the door.

I didnt read through this entire thread, but the first thing that came to my mind was the deadbolt I have listed in the classifieds :)

It is motorized, and comes with an IR remote/keyfob so you dont necessarily have to enter the code. I am certain there are other options available if you dont like the design, color, etc.
