Hello,

On a wall, I want to hang 3 Kodak photo frame. They will all be Wifi, but I can't figure out how to connect the power. They use a 12DC and I don't want to see the 3 power supply on the floor. What is the best way to do that before I install the dry walls?

Should I connect each of them to HAI since I belive HAI deliver 12DC?

Thanks!

I found an Altronix 12v 6A power supply on Ebay for $30.00.

Item # 250449840952.

Search Ebay "altronix power" and there are a bunch.

Correct on the HAI delivering 12VDC. However, the OmniProII board cannot deliver unlimited power. I think it is 1000ma max and you can use that up quickly if you have a few devices hooked up just to drive your HA setup. I do not know what the power consumption of the Kodak frames are but I would shy away from using the board for power. I incorporated an auxilary power source for my extra devices and reserved the my Omni Pro II power for stuff that needed to be powered from the board.

I would consider replacing one of the kodak's with a touchscreen...at least wire for it for future proofing. ie: two Cat5 wires along with the 12 volt wire. Just a thought...

Hello!

David -Great idea, thanks a lot!

Paul - Did you add the HAI Power HUB that deliver 5A max ? I need to buy it anyway for the access control so it might be a good solution.

Ace - I'll look into that for sure.

Thanks,

Yes. I initially planned to use a different approach but the HAI Power Hub has some nice features that can be used in a HAI setup. The down side is the price compared to a plain power source. In my case, I use it to power a bunch of PIR's as well as amplified CATV distribution box.

I currently use touchscreens in the house but decided to purchase a Kodak frame to check it out. What I had noticed was that sometimes I would prefer just to see status and not to interact with the touch screens. The Kodak screen fits for this reason providing me with updated status screens. I haven't mounted on any walls yet but just playing with it. Ideally if you could FTP files directly to it via a root password would be ideal. For the time being its just using a shared network directory which I update with my HA server. (just weather for now).
