Leave for work when in STAY mode

I tried to use the function of pressing EXIT while in stay mode to get a new exit timer, leave for work. It works, I get a new timer and can open the mudroom door (exit delay 1), but when I opened the overhead garage door (exit delay 2, forcearmable, bypassable), it alarms.

Any way around this anyone can think of?

disarm it first?

Yeah, tho whole point is to get around the voice announcements about disarming, then re-arming while the wife and baby are asleep.

The other option is to run the speaker output through a relay and make a rule to kill the speaker for a few minutes on a function button push. . .

But the manual describes this "leave for work" or "let the pet out" function to get a new exit timer. . . So it seems to me it might work. (Page 26 of the M1G installation manual)

Are you closing the mud room door behind you before you open the garage door? Maybe it resets after one door is opened / closed, or else maybe it is only good for one door being opened, not multiple doors.

I had the mudroom door open when I opened the overhead door. It alarmed as soon as the overhead door opened.

I need to play around with it, experiment.

Heh, I have noticed a low WAF during alarm testing.
