Looking for a kind, sefless Crestron dealer/installer...

480 is even better ! More space to work with. Dont worry about the volume buttons yet. I threw them on at the last minute as place holders. They wont look anything like they do right now. They will be much larger, filling the red space on the sides.

I am going to start working on the source icons & the volume & channel buttons this week. Hopefully i have them all done on sunday and then i can begin building the rest of the pages. For now.. i am going to try and put every button on a single page and then we can work back from there and break things up however you wish. Please list the model numbers of all of your sources so that i can locate their remotes online to copy the buttons from.

Once the basic button set, layout & icons are done the rest of the pages will go very fast.

Sounds great!

Sources:

XBOX 360 (Games, DVDs and Music from server)

Panasonic DMP-BD60K (Blu-ray, DVD, Youtube)

FiOS HD-DVR (TV, On-Demand Movies, Music, DVR) It hasn't arrived yet, so not sure of which model.

Any updates?

Im sorry.. i havent had a chance yet. I wrapped up a project in New Orleans Yesterday and im out in Los Angeles for 5 days to do a few upgrades for a system we did 2 years ago. After that im home for a few months so i will definately have time to finish the project. Im going to do some work on the source icons tonight and post them.

I edited the DirecTV page to make it match a FIOS remote i found online. I also did a little work on the channel and volume buttons and incorporated the page selection into the gold header.

It is looking good. My one critique would be to add a DVR button. That one will be used more than the others,
so it should be easy to find and press.

When you say add a button for the DVR what do you mean? The screen shot below describes the menu system i typically work with. What do i need to change so that it matches the menu system you intend on using?

What source will be Live TV? Or Recorded? Are these both just links to the FiOS box? Will YouTube, Blu-ray and DVD all point to the Blu-ray player?

(dont pay attention to where i have icons placed in the activities structure. I know that FiOS wont be in the movie category, just threw them all in for the screenshot.)

I meant adding a button to bring up the dvr screen on the fios box. This would be the same as "recorded tv". I suppose you could just go back to the activities screen and do it there, but that means an extra step that seems unnecessary.

The fios tv will be finished on Wednesday, so I will have more input then. Also, fios would be another source for movies now that I think about it. We could call it VOD "videos on demand".

Yes. YouTube, Blu-Ray, and DVD all go through the bluray player.

I have the original list of sources on the home page.

1) Movie
a) Blu-ray --> Transport Control (BD PLAYER)
:) DVD --> Transport Control (BD PLAYER)
c) Server (ripped DVDs) --> Browse DVD Library --> Transport Control

2) TV
a) Live TV --> Favorite Channels --> DVR Controls (FIOS)
B) Recorded --> DVR Controls (FIOS)
c) Youtube --> Browse youtube videos --> Transport Controls (BD PLAYER)

3) Music
a) HD Radio --> Favorite Stations
B) MP3 Library --> Browse MP3 library --> Transport Controls

I have the FIOS and Blu-ray player sources labeled in bold above. Where does the XBOX fit in to the sources?

What device will provide HD radio and what device is the server and the mp3 library?

Also.. do you have model numbers for the Blu-ray player & Fios. Or can you find me screenshots of the remote controls so i can begin to lay the menu out.

Thanks

Looking great, man!

I have the FIOS and Blu-ray player sources labeled in bold above. Where does the XBOX fit in to the sources?

Sorry about that! XBOX is used only for games and streaming Netflix. So I guess the Movies line needs a Netflix button in there.

The receiver will do HD radio.

Server for movies and mp3 library is a computer.

Also.. do you have model numbers for the Blu-ray player & Fios. Or can you find me screenshots of the remote controls so i can begin to lay the menu out.

Blu-ray is Panasonic DMP-BD60K

FiOS DVR is QIP7216.

I have been slacking  I want to try and get most of it done by next weekend.

You mentioned the software you would be using in an earlier post but said it might be changing. Do you still plan to use www.promixis.com Netremote? I want to download it and learn to navigate it.

I think i have enough buttons to get started on the UI now. Hopefully we can send the file back and forth. It will give you more control of button placement and save us time typing out questions & answers.

Wow guys - lookin' awesome. If I could get a touchpanel looking that good, I'd put a few of them up. Corey - that theater looks incredible (how about a new pic or two with the seats?). And 39 Cent Stamp - great looking design - and really nice job matching the decor of the room right from the start. I've seen a few people before who make crestron screens but they don't look half as good as that.

Thanks Todd, this is the first 'elegant' user interface i have done. I was hoping to capture the glamor of the theater decor without overdoing it.

I finished CJ's Dark Knight design a couple months ago. You can see screen shots here : http://guijaboard.com/?p=108

Once ph0n33z and I finish up his project i will be ready to start a new one. If you have an existing interface you want to update or a new one in mind let me know. Existing interfaces are very easy to spruce up because button placement is done and all i have to do is swap images.

I would really like to get my hands on an existing CQC interface at some point. I think there would be more demand for freebie GUI with a DIY friendly product vs trying to find someone who is programming their own Crestron system. I got lucky with CJ because he has a TPMC-8X.
