A little over a year ago I started playing around with HA.
I have a mi casa verde (3 now), I also have an elk m1gold to fool around with but it is not hooked up.
I have a few dimmer switches as well as regular on/off ones as well as a trane thermostat.
I am moving out of my apartment to a real house now. And I am going to run some new wires.
Have there been any updates in the field recently?
Is there a way to connect the elk to the mi casa verde so that you can use the automation controls of both from one control? Is there a good remote (beside the app) that can control scenes and the alarm at the same time? For now I want to focus on lights, alarm, and maybe something else with a wow factor (any suggestions)?
My house is wired with cat5 as well as alarm and power (of course).
