M1 controlling Homeworks H4

hi,
I understand that Elk does not support a Lutron Homeworks interface, but was wondering if it was possible to control a Homeworks H4 from the Elk M1 via rs232 in an unsupported manner. Has anyone successfully done this? I'd love to hear any thoughts.
