M1 EXP drops off network when in alarm

I have an M1 with an XEP connected to m LAN.  CQC monitors the panel as part of my HA setup.
 
I have noticed over the last couple of years that when the panel goes into alarm that the XEP drops off the network.
 
This is not a CQC issue - this has been confirmed by pinging the panel and setting tripping the system.  The XEP stops replying even if CQC is not connected.
 
I have the XEP powered from teh main PCB, but I have tried using a seperate power supply with the same result.
 
Once the alarm is disarmed, it eventually comes back up and works as normal.
 
Can anyone shed any light onto the issue and indicate a possible fix

I've heard/read that the M1 gets awfully busy during an alarm sequence and may not be able to keep up with the XEP; I'd also be curious about voltage drop during alarm, but you say you've tested for that by using a separate power supply...
 
Just to confirm, you're on the SAME LAN as the M1, just trying to ping it?  Because if you were trying to do anything over DSL and the M1 dropped during alarm, then I'd suspect improper DSL filter installation.

Easiest I think would be to disconnect the XEP from the WAN with the CQC....put it on a dumb switch and see what happens on the LAN.

Yes, the M1 is ont he same lan as the host that is sending the ping request and has been tested with CQC out of the equation completely.
 
I have put a meter on the power terminals when in alarm as well and it is not dropping below the nominated voltage with either power supplies.
 
Not sure where to go to from here - might need to think outside the box a little.

My wife came home once, opened our garage door then proceeded to sit in her car and remain in the phone with a family member for 3-5 minutes.
 
I got a message on my phone that the alarm had been triggered, so I logged into my CCTV system and saw her vehicle in the driveway. Then I called her... she didn't answer - because she was on the phone. Due to other circumstances, I had a good feeling that she was OK, but it was still a bit concerning. Anyhow, I log into eKeypad and the keypad displays the alarm state and I enter my PIN to disarm the panel; it doesn't disarm. I'm not sure if this is a 'feature' of eKeypad, but it does show that my XEP was working and did allow remote access while the alarm was going off...

That's slightly concerning - I could easily see wanting to disarm an alarm remotely if someone doing you a favor sets it off then calls for help!
 
I noticed I couldn't clear alerts from the eKeypad * key like you could on a real keypad earlier... annoying when you're screwing with something and the closest keypad is downstairs (because the message is that you disconnected the upstairs one where you're working)!

Thats the position I am in, I cant disarm remotely should it be triggered - cant do anything at all and hence I need to find a solution.

Well, I was able to log in remotely... so it wasn't that my XEP shut off. I could see what zones were triggered and so forth, I just couldn't disarm it.
 
I haven't tried to do it since then - and that happened 4-5 months ago.
