M1 Gold connection diagram

Looks good. I love Visio. I wish I had more time to experiment with it. Is there a specific template that you used?

I am a little confused on your sound setup, probably because your speaker connections aren't there. Do you switch you speakers between the M1 and Elk124 or do you just use the Elk124?

I used the Electrical and telecom template. Actually I am a novice with Visio. I am learning it as I go. But it is nice for doing this sort of thing.

To be honest, the audio functions and control with the M1 has me somewhat confused. My goal is to have the M1 set up for announcements and voice control. I also want to use any phone for voice control using the # key. I will have several sounds that I want to M1 to play based on different rules. Like a dog barking if someone is detected outside the front door and has not rung the doorbell in say within 20 seconds. (deter people from loitering around my door) Or if someone comes to the door, rings the bell, and nobody is home. Then I would play a "nobody is home please speak your message now". I will need voices to play in Chinese, hence the 129 programmer. So I am thinking the 124 will be able to switch pre recorded sounds based rules I write for zone activities that will trip various outputs on the M1RB. Lastly, I want the speakers to also be the siren function.

The M1 would execute the rules and then use the M1TWA and play sound through the correct speaker zone. If there is a better way to go about this, I'm all ears.

I will have whole house audio on separate speakers in rooms, plus the separate announcement speakers as well. I wished I could use only i set of speakers for both purposes, but I don't see that this is possible. Again, I do not fully understand how the M1 actually handles this audio stuff, so this layout is based on what my understanding of the M1.

my only concern would be the current draw off the main system. you are putting your 3 GB, 2 keypads, 2 water sensors, xep, 2 xin, and your bell all off the limited current of the main system.

You might want to add it all up, before you commit to it

I started similar to this but soon realized at least for my case it's better to separate 'system' and then reference one drawing to the other. For example all ELK stuff would be one drawing, all LAN stuff (including IP cams, etc) on another drawing. If not things will soon get too complicated.

But nice work regardless. :) I think you did the same as me and took the ELK component images right? or did you download special ELK templates?

I made my own images for this. RIght now I have re designed this entire layout for ease of use and fix some mistakes. I should get it posted in a few days.
Thanks

Rev 2 layout

This is my latest latout. Made changes to power and audio connections to interface the M1TWA and the ELK 124 correctly. Also complete redesign of layout for easier viewing.
