M1KP2

Hi Everyone,

This is a great forum and was hoping I could get some help for an ELK M1 install. I'm trying to enrol my M1KP2 keypad and it says "Keypad no comm" I've checked the wires and doesn't seem to be a problem with that. I went from standard 4 conductor wire which the house came pre-wired with and ended up with Cat6 cable. I've matched the color codes to ensure they were accurate which they are according to the manual.

Things i've tried.

1) changing the address which worked - but when i get into the installer menu and select "9" to get to the installation menu it won't allow me to hit the "right" button to continue the enrol process.
2) I have the keypad hooked up to a data bus hub which hasn't been enrolled but didn't think that was necessary.

3) Also wanted to see if I could get my system up an running during the weekend and I made the mistake to register on Friday night. Is there any other place where I can download the M1KRP software?

Thanks everyone.

Have you checked and re-checked your termination? If you're using a DBH, if I recall correctly, NONE of the attached devices should have terminating jumpers. Instead, you jumper one of the terminators on the m1 gold itself and then you put the terminating rj45 jack in the first unused jack in the DBH.

If you double check your termination and that's not the problem, I would try each of the keypads by themselves to make sure they are working. You are correct that you don't have to enroll the DBH.

Sounds like a wiring or termination issue, as power cycling should not be necessary if an enrollment and addressing were successful.
