M1PCSPIM vs ISY

If going with insteon, the ISY seems the way to integrate with the M1G. Seems there are two options if I go the UPB route: ISY and M1PCSPIM. What are the significant differences between the two?

The M1PCSPIM is for UPB not Insteon... if you want Insteon, everyone swears by the ISY for making it all come together cleaner and simplifying your installation. You'll still need an M1XSP to interface with the ISY I believe.

Agreed... I was talking about the ISY with UPB firmware vs the PCSPIM... anyone know the differences?

Sorry missed that part. You know I've heard about this mythical ISY for UPB for YEARS now... but Universal Devices never did it. There is a MiLightStyle from PCS (the creators of UPB) but I've yet to hear from anyone who actually has one.

One of these days I'll pick one up to experiment - but so far everyone I've ever talked to runs UPB off the Elk natively. The only weakness is the Elk's inability to track the status of a light changed by a scene... but that's the protocol more than anything (but other devices have a way to work around that). For more about that, read the UPB article in my sig.

The ISY or UPB is the MiLightStyle. Its the ISY with different Firmware. I have one since last year but it does not support all of the SA devices (last time i emailed PCS).

Once the get SA going and the ELK module is ready it should be awesome.

Digger - would you mind elaborating? I have 98% SA devices; what's it not compatible with? I'd hate to buy it and be disappointed.

Per Scott at PCS about a month ago the did not have all the mapping information still fir the SA devices (various faceplates etc).

I been waiting since December.
