M1XIN in crawlspace

I thinking of adding some more zones, and the crawlspace is the natural place to use as a hub to homerun the rest of them to. Is putting an M1XIN 16-input expander in the crawlspace a bad idea? It would certainly be subjected to more temperature and humidity variation than the interior of the house.

I'd probably stick it in a spare 14" can.

I wouldn't recommend it because of the enviromental factor alone.

Even if you don't want to pull all your homeruns back to the panel, you could find a convenient closet or simply make a junction, however as a tech, I prefer accessable for service purposes.
