Message problem on Hai Omni Lt

I have a Hai Omni LT with firmware 2.10. I have and omnitouch 5.7 and a LCD console. When I try to get messages to be spoken aloud or displayed on the consoles I can't get it to work. I was initially trying to get a message spoken aloud in response to a Control action. From the Omnitouch, I selected Setup, Prog, Add, When, Button, Menu, Ctrl, enter Ctrl item number, CMD, Message, Say, enter message number and ##. But nothing happens. If I try to hit the down arrow on the Enter Message number screen to scroll through the list of message words, nothing happens.

I've also tried to just going into the top level Message menu to have a message displayed on the console and I get the same thing when I try to enter the message numbers. Any ideas

O.K. So you have the Two-Way Voice/Audio module installed. Has it ever spoken anything? Are you using PC Access? Unless your really watching your money, a good investment would be to upgrade your firmware to Ver. 3.x and buy at least the user version of PC Access. You can get both for maybe $60.

Now, to continue on, to test the speaking, just create a message, then "speak" that message, and it should speak it. Get all that working before you attempt to do any programming.

I didn't realize I needed the two way voice module for the controller to say messages. I thought that was only need for two way communication with a central station. Shouldn't I still be able to have messages displayed on the console?

Yes, you can send messages to the consoles without it, it just can't speak them out loud.

So you go to Messages, Show, select one, then it doesn't show on the console?
