Motion detectors - best location?

If using a motion detector to trigger lights in a room, is there any reason to prefer a wall vs ceiling mounted unit? I am leaning toward a ceiling unit because I suspect that a wall mounted unit might be triggered by motion seen in an adjacent room via a door way. Any specific pro/con of either approach?

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that there aren't that many ceiling options if you don't like your unit and want to swap it for something else. Maybe somebody who is using a ceiling unit can provide some feedback on how it is working for them?

I use These. The are about the size of a stickup air freshner and do a fine job. One thing you may need to consider is the height of your ceiling. The higher the better. This specifc detector has a 36 foot range at it's max height of 12 feet.
