Natural / Propane Gas Detector

I looked, but couldnt find anything, but does anyone make a natural gas detector that can interface with the Elk M1?

Macurco, believe they're under the 3M monniker now.
Those are really well priced. While my idea would only cost roughly $40-50 (sensor, Arduino, relay, project box), there would be an investment of time in wiring and programming it. That could realistically be hours for someone who has never programmed an MCU before. It may be better better to simply buy DEL's recommendation at ~$90 and call it a day.

I'm in that mode now. I CAN do a lot of things myself, but time being what it is, I'm trying to buy things as I can afford them. The hard part is it is NOT custom any longer, so there is some hammering of square pegs into round holes...

Boy is that ever true... then again there's the added benefit of having an off-the-shelf product that will have more value to future buyers of your home...
