Network racks found on Craigslist

That's the biggest reason I'm balking at a server rack - space. Although 40" depth would be great for cable management, I just can't justify the space.

My collection of empty racks is proliferating.

In addition to the two racks pictured in the first two posts of this thread, I just added a 7-foot two-post model made by Chatsworth Products, Inc. The rack looks sturdy, is aluminum, rated at 1000lbs, I can't tell it has even been used. (It is listed with CDW.com for $415.00.) I am considering using this for lighter-weight items for which optimal rear access would be nice.

Craigslist $30.00

How are you going to fasten it to the driveway concrete?

Gonna put a tarp over the components?

$30, good find. ;)

I'm actually GLAD I'm not in a city large enough to have those deals come by, or I'd start "collecting" 'em. And boy, nothing is a bigger threat to the WAF!

Funny you mention it. . . this rack actually came from Remlap, Alabama. And I now know that Remlap was founded by an angry sibling of a guy living in Palmer, AL (spells Remlap backwards).

At any rate, apparently some of these deals are away from larger cities.
