New HP TouchSmart PCs

My wife and I find ourselves touching the laptop screen from time to time expecting it to work like our kitchen touchscreen That is a little embarrassing.

Hehe...ya, my wife told me today that when she went to the library the other day, she touched the catalog screen like 3 different times before remembering they were mouse not touch. That's what I like...when she's disappointed with OTHER technology compared to home.

Checked one out first-hand today. The only thing I really didn't like was the lack of a swivel stand. The flat panel we use now in the kitchen gets swiveled a lot. The weight of the HP and those small plastic legs supporting it are definitely bad for my home - I'd bet the legs would be broken in a few weeks.

I'm wondering if a couple felt pads added to the bottom of the feet might make a substantial difference...

With the felt peds i'd probably find mine on the floor when i come home from work. My cats likes to get on everthing (especially the kitchen counter) and then pushes stuff around with here nose. If she pushes my $1300 touchscreen PC of the counter I'd be forced to make some verry difficult decisions....

LOL - good point! If I go that route I might have to anchor it somehow...

Also, I looked quickly, and I do believe it does vent heat from the back of the unit - which might explain the lack of a VESA wall mount.
