Hi,

I'am Jean-Michel from Paris (France, Europe).
In first : I'm sorry for my english, i'm very bad in translation!

So, I use premise since 7 years and my first question is : witch software be used for control your premise ?

When I began 7 years ago, I have just use internet explorer without "AutomationBrowser" but avec url request in a web pages
Since somes years I use Macromedia Flash (no refresh, faster, more beautifull and custom) (in samsung q1 for exemple)
Now i use too iphone (always by sendind à url), because in france, all peoples (or almost) have a iphone in her pocket! because it's small and the battery is good.

And you, witch hardware and software ?

I hope that you will have understood my english B)

Jean-Michel

I have several Fujitsu Stylistic P600 Tablet PCs that the Automation Browser runs on, I also have an Ipod Touch that I can use.
On the server side I am using an Atom 330 computer to run Premise Home Control.

By the way, your English is fine, Welcome to the Forum.

Welcome, indeed..I'm fairly much the same as Wayne - Fujitsus for the Automation Browser (known here as 'AB')..iphone (wife's), HTC TouchPro2 (mine), and whatever junk I can experiment with...server side I'm using an Intel 945GX(?) MB running Windows Home Server (Windows Server 2003). A couple of smaller xp devices are coming, plus a couple in-wall touchscreens...

Hello,

I do not know Fujitsu but I see on Google that a keyboard is on the right. Is it practical?
I can see what the fujistu is more thick than Q1 but cheaper.

In France, we like the small remote control. The Iphone is really good for our customer, and each man, woman, ( children +16 years) have an iPhone. don't need search the remote control, always in a pocket and the battery is very well.
We use panelPC too (touchsreen in wall) with Windows XP Pro or Family, and the server only on Windows XP Pro.

Here (in France), few persons use Premise. We are more on Crestron/AMX (not me!!!).

Your premise are for your home or is it your job ?

I'm going try understand the topics from this forum :D

Bye bye
Jean-Michel

I bought the Fujitsu computers many years ago, they are slow now but I liked the 8.4 inch (213mm) display size, the right side of the display is only a number pad and a few other controls and not a full keyboard. The keyboard that came with the Fujitsu computers is a really nice IR keyboard but you dont really need it for Premise.
Many people use iPhones here for the same reasons you do, I have the Ipod Touch and I also have a In wall PC with a 10.4 inch (264mm) display.

My Premise server is running on XP and the Fujitsu computers are Windows 2000, my In wall computer is running XP.
I use Premise in my home. Here in the U.S. very few people use Premise anymore, I think most people on this forum use Homeseer or CQC.
Most of the people on this forum are what we call Do It Yourself people (D.I.Y.) and not installers. We like Home Automation as a hobby.
We do have a few people on this forum that have worked for Premise at one time.

I used to live in Rosières-en-Haye over 40 years ago, I don't remember much French anymore.
