Google Nuvo + "music port server"
I think it's supposed to debut at CEDIA in Sept, 4th quarter release.
~$2300
Will replace, I think, the M3 Music Server.
I think I'll stick with a $400 PC + the MP.
Who would buy a distributed audio system these days, if it wasn't 'digital music file-ready'? You have to buy a $2300 component, to listen to digital music files?!! Sonos and Squeezebox will only pull further ahead.
If a PC is the primary site of music storage (and who would only keep files on the Nuvo Server?), it makes no sense to have a separate 'server'. One buys music online via the PC, CD's are ripped on the PC, music files are 'shared' via the internet (or a CD or USB drive), I sync mp3 players on the PC - what's the use of a limited Nuvo 'server'?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With the MP, I'm at my limit - how can I justify $1000 (MP + PC) to pass digital music to my system? And I'll have to buy an Autonomic license for their software, to obtain streaming?
Nuvo needs to re-think this new server. Or do a damn good job showing people, like me, how in the world it would benefit me to invest that kind of money in 1. And that would never happen.
