New Omni Pro II Install

Hey guys I'm at the point of terminating all my wiring for my OPII and have some questions about zone types and where to pull 12V power from:

1) In setting up interior door sensors should the zone type be set to Trouble? Or leave it on Aux?
2) Glass breaks - better to pull 12V from Switched 12V or AUX 12V? Or does it matter?
3) I've having difficulty getting my head around Latching Perimeter vs. just Perimeter Zone types. I know that if the device is powered via a switched 12V, then the zone type must be set to latching which will ignore the status of that zone during a power cycle. Can someone give me an example of why this is of benefit?

Right now I have zones setup as follows, does this look correct?

Exterior doors (Entry/Exit with delay)
Balcony door (Perimeter no delay)
Interior Doors (Don't know either AUX or TROUBLE)
Windows (Perimeter no delay)
Glass breaks (Latching Perimeter)
PIRS (Away Interior)
Interior Siren (Int HORN)
Exterior Siren/Strobe (EXT HORN)
H20 Sensors (possibly AUX or TROUBLE)
Fire Alarms (Supervised Fire)
Heat Sensors (Supervised Fire)

thanks

Charlie,

Set interior doors to Auxiliary if you don't want them to factor into security. Glass breaks are generally latching so you should set them up to switched power. As you said, zones that are connected to switched power should be set as "latching" so they don't show up as "trouble" or "not ready" while the system is arming.

TIP:

In PC Access 3 (always make sure you have the latest version) there is context help that describes in detail how each zone type functions. To access this information, simply press the Windows Help Key <F1> while the zone type column is hilighted on the Setup > Zones page. This may be helpful.
