LAS VEGAS (May 8, 2007) - NextAlarm.com, The Broadband Alarm Company, today announced at The Cable Show an agreement with LaserShield Systems, Inc., which is headquartered in Las Cruces, N.M.

Under the agreement, LaserShield will market its new Sparrow device. Sparrow is a translator device that plugs into a user's Internet router and transmits alarm signals over NextAlarm's Alarm Broadband Network (ABN). Unlike traditional alarm system communicators, which require standard telephone lines, Sparrow uses the user's broadband Internet connection to send signals. This allows the ever-growing number of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and digital telephone subscribers to have their LaserShield systems monitored and take full advantage of the Rapid Response monitoring service.

"We're very pleased to join LaserShield in this endeavor," said Alex Elliot, NextAlarm's founder and CEO. "With this venture, LaserShield subscribers will benefit with a VoIP solution for alarm monitoring."

"Working with NextAlarm in this strategic venture gives us two powerful benefits," said Anthony Dohrmann, CEO and Chairman of LaserShield Systems, Inc. "It provides a cost-effective virtual monitoring platform for our overseas subscribers who want to 'self monitor' their alarm, where either traditional authorities are not available, or police corruption is a concern. For our professionally-monitored customers in the United States, we estimate that nearly one-third of our sales inquiries require a VoIP solution for monitoring, as they have given up traditional phone service."

So it this Sparrow unit a step closer to NextAlarm supporting true internet monitoring or is it more like a custom version of the ABN VOIP based adapter?
