occasional quick flicker of light from M1KPB keypad

I've got an M1KPB keypad in my bedroom.
Every now and then, the keypad emits a quick flicker of bright light, as though it were a camera flash going off.
No system troubles get reported, and when I check bus errors, they are near zero.
The system works just fine, so I suppose I can ignore this, but it's a little bit annoying to have this happen in the bedroom when it's dark at night.
Anybody else seen this or know what it might be?

Known quirk with the FW. Hasn't been addressed. I forget what the actual cause is, but the only fix ATM is to disable the backlight (so you just don't see the flash) or live with it.

I get the flash too - and the backlight is set to the lowest setting. Had it for 3 years since I put in the system. It is highly annoying as it is in my master bedroom and I wish they would fix it. I have been living with it as it is the only real issue I have with an otherwise excellent system.
