OmniproII and Smoke Detector Wiring and setup

I have a question which I hope someone can answer.

I had my HAI OmniproII Professionally installed (Somewhat) but am not fully confident that everything was done correctly.
Point being I brought up PC access and noticed that my smoke/fire detectors (4 Wire version) were set up in zones 1-10. on some of them the Zone type was set to Exit/Entry others were set to Fire. I didn;t think this was correct so I set one of them to Fire and my sirens went off. What could be wrong.

Smoke detectors use normally open contacts and require the use of an end-of-line resistor. Security contacts are usually normally closed and may or may not use an end-of-line resistor (this is determined by a setting in the OmniPro II). If the circuit connected to the zone you changed was normally closed with no EOL, when you changed the zone type to fire the zone looked like a fire alarm because the circuit was closed.
