Omnistat2 Type of wire?

Can I use a cat6 cable to wire the omnistat to the Hai Panel? I have two free cables in the location where i want to install the thermostat, but I can run a 4 cable 18 or 22 gauge if need be, the only reaon I am hesitating is because I already sealed and patched the whole on this location.

I used CAT6 cable to connect my Omnistat2 to my PC. There are four connections required and I used one pair for each connection. The cable's length is fairly short (less than 15 feet) but I'm sure it could support much longer runs.

I have mine hooked up with Cat5e but no run exceeds 40 ft. No problems.

Great, My run is about the same distance.

I have Cat5e, one pair for each connection. Longest run close to 70 feet and no problems

I have a run of about 20', and I didn't use pairs, just individual conductors. (I needed to save some conductors for another purpose.)
